Repair of pump rods

The set of works related to the repair of pump rods includes:
- acceptance of a bundle of rods;
- sorting and piece-by-piece drawing and twisting of rods around the longitudinal axis to the yield point according to the program on the straightening and hardening bench;
- control of rod head runout and, if necessary, straightening on the stand for straightening of rods and twisting of adapters (SR);
- detection of rod body defects on the defectoscopy bench (BD), and sorting of rods into 3 categories of suitability or scrap.
The deep repair is based on the patented principle of hot radial-shift helical rolling of used and not subject to traditional repair rods SN 7/8“ (22 mm) to SN 3/4” (19 mm) by reducing the cross-sectional diameter of the rod body. The rolling temperature along the cross-sectional area and length of the bar is 1150±15°C. This rolling method allows to eliminate internal and surface defects of the bar due to diffusion.
One of the features of this process is the final compression of surface and adjacent layers in the direction of metal flow, which contributes to obtaining a high-quality surface with a high level of strength and plasticity. Also the process of radial-shift helical rolling of SHN bar allows to obtain a fine-grained structure of the billet and evenly distribute carbide components.”
